First Free Form Skylight in Iran

First Free form Skylight in Iran: Fioré Project by Taj Group

For the first time in Iran, the Taj Group successfully designed and executed a free form skylight for the Fioré project in Amol. These innovative structures, characterized by their wave-like designs, achieve remarkable flexibility by using spatial triangulation. This approach eliminates the need for columns, offering seamless coverage of diverse sections.

Previously, foreign contractors implemented freeform structures in a few commercial centers across Iran. However, the Taj Group has proudly localized this advanced technology. Mr.Jamehbozorg directly supervised the project, while a team of skilled professionals ensured its seamless execution.

Technical Specifications:

  • Structure Dimensions: Elliptical, with diameters measuring 13 meters and 7 meters.
  • Location: Void area of Fioré Medical Center.
  • Designer: Zahra Toutzari.

Design and Implementation:

The team employed topographical techniques to create a structurally stable and visually stunning design. By using CNC-profiled sections, they minimized height while maintaining exceptional stability. Additionally, triangular forms allowed for full surface coverage and enhanced structural resilience.

Glass Specifications:

The design incorporates high-strength glass manufactured using HS technology and aligned with BS standards. This ensures compliance with cutting-edge European safety protocols. Each square meter of glass can withstand forces up to 600 kilograms, making it highly durable against vibrations and external pressures.

Sealing and Reinforcement:

To optimize resistance to environmental factors, the team used WS-based adhesives and rubber seals, specially imported for this project. This advanced sealing system effectively protects the structure against heavy rainfall, strong winds, humidity, and direct sunlight. Moreover, CNC-cut metal flashing surrounds the structure, channeling surface water efficiently to the roof drains.

Architectural Impact:

On the rooftop, this modern structure adds a geometric and minimalist aesthetic, which perfectly aligns with the building’s overall interior design. Its sleek form not only enhances the visual appeal but also integrates seamlessly with the functional elements of the space.

Pioneering Achievement:

Mr.Mokhaberi from the Oxin Building Complex Management initiated this project to establish a benchmark for freeform skylight construction in Iran. With their expertise, local professionals brought this ambitious vision to life. This achievement underscores the talent and potential of Iranian engineers in creating innovative and standout architectural designs.
